The ski area in Zermatt is one of the largest in the Alps, thanks to the connection with the Italian ski resorts of Cervinia / Valtournanche. In addition to the dense network of ski slopes, there are inexhaustible opportunities for freeriding and heliskiing for ski and snowboard. Non-skiers will find variety in tobogganing, snowshoeing, curling or cross-country skiing. In addition, an extensive network of winter hiking trails invites you to enjoy wonderful snow experiences. 

Would you like to rent winter sports equipment? We have a long-standing cooperation with specialist shops for sportswear and sports equipment. The rental equipment is delivered to Matterhorn Lodge on the day of your arrival and collected again after your departure.

Tickets for skiing, mountain biking or hiking - here you can find the right tickets with a single click. By the way, the mountain railway passes also entitle you to free use of the electric buses in Zermatt!

Zermatt offers a network of hiking trails of around 400 kilometres, making it an attractive starting point for varied hiking holidays. From enjoyable gourmet hikes to child-friendly walks along the mountain lakes and hiking tours lasting several days, everything is possible. Zermatt is the mountainbike paradise at the foot of the Matterhorn! Mountainbikers will find all levels of difficulty here: from natural, easy routes to steep, shaped trails.  Rental equipment and individual service is provided by our partners in Zermatt. On request we can organise trained bike guides. As a certified bike hotel, we also provide the necessary infrastructure for a carefree bike holiday. The fun is therefore guaranteed. 

Opened in October 2020, «RandaBoulder» offers more than 100 boulders of various degrees of difficulty, spread over 250m² and two levels. RandaBoulder is not supervised, except for the courses, the facility is video-monitored. The different holds and different inclinations of the walls as well as the moonboard are attractive, in addition, the boulders are regularly moved. RandaBoulder offers a great opportunity to practice – no matter what the weather is like – for beginners and for professionals. 

Sports enthusiasts will find a wide range of activities in Zermatt – for example paragliding, tennis, golf, mountaineering, climbing or winter sports in all possible forms. The golf course of Golf Club Matterhorn is located in Täsch-Randa, just a few kilometres from Zermatt. Indoor golf or mini-golf as well as indoor tennis courts are available in Zermatt.

Zermatt hosts numerous sporting, culinary or cultural events of the highest standard, such as music festivals like «Zermatt Unplugged» or the sports event «Patrouille des Glaciers». Museums, cinema, themed guided tours and special guest experiences are also on the programme.
